Yaklaşık 530 yıl evvel İspanya’dan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’na gelen Sefarad Yahudileri, birlikte bilgilerini, dillerini, kültürlerini, yemeklerini, şarkılarını vs. da getirdiler ve bu topraklarda Sefarad Yahudiliğinin merkezini oluşturdular; kültürlerini günümüze kadar korumaya çalıştılar. Dünyanın farklı yerlerine dağılan Sefarad Yahudileri, bu amaçla, kültürlerinin en önemli öğesi olan, “antik” İspanyol lehçesi olarak da tanımlanan Judeo İspanyolca / Ladino dillerinde çeşitli yayınlar yapmaktalar.
“Bar Ilan Üniversitesi - Salti Institute for Ladino Studies”nin kurucusu Dr. Selim Yehoshua Salti tarafından Judeo İspanyol dilinde kaleme alınan bu kitap İngilizce ve Kastilyano’ya çevrildi ve 3 dilde basıldı. Bunda amaçlanan, özellikle İspanyol diline vakıf okurun, kitapta yer alan eğlenceli fıkraları orijinal dili Judeo İspanyolca okurken aynı zamanda günümüzün modern İspanyolcasıyla da karşılaştırabilmesidir.
Kitabın içeriği, geleneksel Sefarad kültüründe en popüler kişiliklerden biri olan Djoha (Nasreddin Hoca) ile ilgili eğlenceli, bir o kadar da düşündürücü fıkralardır. Geleneksel Djoha hikayeleri nesilden nesile ve kulaktan kulağa aktarılmıştır. Folklorik bir karakter olan Djoha komik ve akıllı bir kişiliktir; insanları güldürürken eğitme yeteneğine de sahiptir.
Dr. Selim Yehoshua Salti bu kitabında, Djoha fıkralarını günümüze adapte ederek 101 modern hikâye kaleme almıştır. Karikatürlerle de zenginleştirilmiş ve renkli olarak basılmış bu kitabı Sefarad ve İspanyol kültürüne ilgi duyan herkese öneririz.
-----------------------------------------------Sephardic Jews, who came to the Ottoman Empire from Spain about 530 years ago, shared their knowledge, language, culture, food, songs, etc. and they formed the epicenter of Sephardic Judaism in these lands where they tried to preserve their culture until the present. Sephardic Jews who dispersed to different parts of the world, continue to publish various publications in the Judeo Spanish / Ladino language which is the most important element of their culture, and which is also defined as an “ancient” Spanish dialect.
Written in Judeo Spanish by Dr. Selim Yehoshua Salti, the founder of “Salti Institute for Ladino Studies - Bar Ilan University”; this book has been translated into English and Castiliano and published in 3 languages. The objective is to enable the readers, particularly those with knowledge of the Spanish language, to be able to compare the entertaining anecdotes in the book with today's modern Spanish while reading the original Judeo Spanish language.
The book comprises of entertaining and thought-provoking anecdotes about Djoha (Nasreddin Hodja), one of the most popular personalities in traditional Sephardic culture. Traditional Djoha stories have been passed down from generation to generation and by word of mouth. A folkloric character; Djoha is a funny and intelligent personality. Moreover, he has the ability to educate people while making them laugh.
Dr. Selim Yehoshua Salti has written 101 modern stories by adapting Djoha anecdotes to the present day, for this book. We recommend this publication which is enriched with cartoons and printed in color, to anyone interested in Sephardic and Spanish culture.

Los judíos sefardíes, que llegaron al Imperio Otomano desde España hace unos 530 años, compartieron sus conocimientos, lengua, cultura, comida, cantos, etc. y formaron el epicentro del judaísmo sefardí en estas tierras donde intentaron preservar su cultura hasta el presente. Los judíos sefardíes que se dispersaron por diferentes partes del mundo, continúan publicando diversas publicaciones en el idioma judeoespañol/ladino que es el elemento más importante de su cultura, y que se puede definir como un dialecto español “antiguo”.
Escrito en judeoespañol por Dr. Selim Yehoshua Salti, fundador del “Instituto Salti para el Estudio del Ladino - Universitad Bar Ilan”; este libro ha sido traducido al inglés y al castellano y publicado en 3 idiomas. El objetivo es permitir que los lectores, particularmente aquellos con conocimiento del idioma español, puedan comparar las anécdotas entretenidas del libro con el español moderno de hoy mientras leer el idioma judeoespañol original.

Es esto la razon por la kuala me plaze kompozarlos o adaptarlos.
Ademas mi buto es i sera de kontar muevos kuentos o de adaptarlos sovre la vida de oy, ansi mirar a ke Djoha siempre egziste, tal komo muestros antepasados lo krearon.
Funny stories help us to relieve stress and fatigue, because laughing and at times howling with joy is a kind of remedy which can even reduce the aches in the body. Principally, they play an important role for the development of the brain. As is well known, by making us laugh they help us forget resentment and anger, allowing us to relax and be less nervous. This is the reason why I enjoy composing or adapting stories.
Moreover, my goal is to tell new stories or adapt them to present-day life thus taking care that Djoha always exists in the same manner that our ancestors had created him.
Las historias divertidas nos ayudan a alivianar el estrés y el cansancio porque reír, e incluso a veces gritar de alegría, es una especie de medicina que incluso calma los dolores en el cuerpo. Principalmente, juegan un papel importante para el desarrollo del cerebro. Como es bien sabido, al hacernos reír nos ayudan a olvidar el rencor, la ira y a estar menos irritados. Por eso disfruto componiendo o adaptando historias.
Además, mi objetivo es contar nuevas historias o adaptarlas a la vida actual cuidando de esta manera que Djoha exista siempre, tal cual lo concibieron nuestros antepasados.
